Support for Expectant Mothers

The Rotary Club of Portmore has officially launched its Maternity and Child Health Care Package Distribution project, a heartfelt initiative designed to support expectant mothers in the community. This project is aligned with Rotary’s global focus on maternal and child health, ensuring that vulnerable families receive essential items that contribute to a safe and healthy start in life.
“...nurturing healthy beginnings, one family at a time.”
The first distribution took place on August 4, 2025, at the Greater Portmore Health Centre, where pregnant mothers were warmly welcomed and happily received their care packages. Each package contained thoughtfully selected items to assist mothers-to-be as they prepare for childbirth and early childcare. The initiative was met with gratitude and smiles, further highlighting the need for this type of support in the community.
With this successful start, the Rotary Club of Portmore has extended the project to include additional health centres in September, including the Waterford Health Centre and the Christian Pen Health Centre. Through this ongoing effort, the club reaffirms its commitment to service above self by promoting healthier beginnings for mothers and their children across Portmore.
